What I am working on

1. Thinking about changing the image gallery. We need something cooler and with more functionality.

2. Working on adding in an editor to all content creating areas so that anyone can make their text bold, underline, change alignment, make bullet list, add images to content, etc... without having to know html.

3. Working with Elise and Laura on a better look/feel for the site.

4. Working on creating a links page so that we can link to our favorite animal friendly websites.

5. Trying to find out why the google map macro creator is not showing markers on the rendered map.

Laura Lee

Hello, I'm Laura. I joined Richmond Animal Rights recently and volunteered to help Derek and Elise out with the website, so this is just a test post to make sure everything is working for me. I'm a student at Randolph-Macon College but am getting ready to graduate in a few months. I'm an Environmental Studies and Political Science major and hope to enter a career in environmental and animal advocacy. I've been a vegetarian since the age of 12 but only vegan since early 2008.

About Me

Hi, my name is Derek Toro. I helped to create this website. I became a vegetarian about 8 years ago and became fully Vegan about 6 years ago. I went fully Vegan after hearing Howard Lyman speak one summer in Charlottesville, VA. For many years before becoming Vegan I was a Chef in many restaurants in and around the Charlottesville area. About 8 years ago however I made the switch into the IT world and haven't looked back since.
